Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Mykonea handles personal data and browser information when you visit mykonea.gr, contact the publication or use optional services such as audience measurement.

2. Information we may process
Depending on how you use the website, processing may include technical request information needed to deliver and secure the website, browser preferences stored locally on your device, analytics information when you consent to analytics, and information you voluntarily provide when contacting Mykonea.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process information only where there is an appropriate purpose and legal basis. Technical processing necessary to operate, protect and deliver the website is carried out for the provision and security of the service and our legitimate interests in operating a secure publication. Optional analytics is used only after consent. Information sent to us directly is processed in order to respond to the request and, where applicable, to take steps requested by you.
4. Cookies, local storage and consent
Mykonea stores certain preferences locally in your browser, including your selected light or dark theme and your privacy choices. Storage that is strictly necessary to remember choices or provide a requested website function does not require advertising or analytics consent.
Google Analytics is disabled by default. It is loaded only after you explicitly accept analytics. If you reject analytics, analytics storage remains disabled. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation remain denied in the current Mykonea configuration.
5. Google Analytics
When analytics consent is granted, Mykonea uses Google Analytics to understand aggregated website usage and improve the publication. Google may process device, browser, interaction and approximate location information according to its own terms and privacy documentation. Mykonea does not activate Google Analytics before consent.
6. External services and social networks
Links to Facebook, LinkedIn, Bluesky and other external services take you to third-party websites. Those services operate under their own privacy policies. External media or services embedded or opened from Mykonea may communicate with their providers when they are loaded or activated.
7. Recipients and service providers
Personal data may be processed by infrastructure, hosting, security, analytics or other technical providers only to the extent necessary to provide their services. Analytics information is shared with Google only when analytics consent has been granted. We do not sell personal data.
8. International transfers
Some technology providers may process information outside Greece or the European Economic Area. Where data is transferred internationally, the relevant provider and Mykonea rely on the safeguards required by applicable data-protection law, such as adequacy decisions or appropriate contractual safeguards where required.
9. Retention
Information is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it is processed, for security and legal obligations, or according to the configured retention rules of the relevant service. Browser preferences remain on your device until you change them, clear browser storage or the application replaces them. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time through Cookie settings.
10. Your data-protection rights
Subject to the conditions of applicable law, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, or to object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
11. Complaints
If you believe your data-protection rights have been infringed, you may contact Mykonea first or lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA).

12. Children
Mykonea is a general news publication and is not designed to collect personal information from children. We do not knowingly request personal data from children through the public website.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, providers or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
