Amorgos: Eight-Page Feature in the British National Geographic Traveller

Amorgos is set to be featured for the first time in the special Islands Collection edition of the British magazine National Geographic Traveller. The feature, which will span at least eight pages, is scheduled for publication in January 2027, aiming to promote the island to the British travel market.

To gather the necessary material, a press trip was conducted in Amorgos from August 26 to August 31. The mission was staffed by Farida Zeynalova, Associate Editor of the magazine, and photographer Irjaliina Paavonpera, who experienced the island's daily life, traditions, and local products.

This initiative was organized by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) UK & Ireland office. The action was implemented with the support of the Deputy Mayor of Tourism Promotion for the Municipality of Amorgos, Popi Despotidi, and in cooperation with the Aegialis 5 Hotel & Spa.

According to the Mayor of Amorgos, Lefteris Karaiskos, featuring in this international publication is part of the municipality's strategy to highlight the unique identity, gastronomy, natural environment, and people of the region to an audience seeking quality destinations.
