Mykonos and Santorini: International Promotion Campaign Focusing on Authentic Experiences

A press familiarization trip featuring international travel media representatives highlights the islands' tourism profile beyond the cosmopolitan model from October 5 to 12.
A familiarization trip with five international media representatives is taking place from October 5 to 12 in Mykonos and Santorini. This initiative is part of the "Santorini-Mykonos GNTO Tourism Forum 2026" campaign, aiming to highlight the modern tourism identity of the two islands through thematic and experiential activities.
In this context, the British Travel Weekly group is preparing a three-page promotional feature titled "Mykonos Beyond the Beach Clubs". The feature aims to showcase alternative experiences and activities offered by Mykonos beyond the established cosmopolitan pattern, primarily targeting the British travel industry.
The campaign also covers Central European and Scandinavian markets. Participants include a reporter from the ANSA agency in Austria with social media coverage and blog articles, a Slovakian journalist planning an eight-page feature in GEO or Zivot magazines, and the publisher of Travel News Nordic targeting travel trade professionals in Scandinavia.
In parallel with the visits, presentations and discussions are being held with local stakeholders, tourism professionals, and GNTO offices abroad. The initiative is organized by the Greek National Tourism Organization in collaboration with the Municipalities of Mykonos and Santorini, supported by private travel sponsorships.
