Paros: 55-year-old dies during recreational dive at Voutakos
The man lost consciousness during a recreational dive and was taken to the Paros Health Centre.
A 55-year-old United States citizen died during a recreational dive in the Voutakos sea area of Paros.
According to the Hellenic Coast Guard, the man became unwell and lost consciousness. Diving instructors brought him aboard a private vessel and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
He was then transported to the port of Pounta and taken by ambulance to the Paros Health Centre, where his death was confirmed.
The Paros Port Authority is conducting a preliminary investigation. An autopsy and toxicological examination have been ordered.
