Santorini: Celebration of Saint Averkios on Friday, October 23 at Ftelos Brewery
The event features wine tasting of the new vintage from local wineries, traditional music, and ticketed admission.
The celebration of Saint Averkios, patron saint of wine, is organized by the Theraean Society of Science, Letters, and Arts on Friday, October 23 at 19:00 at Ftelos Brewery in Karterados. The event is traditionally linked to opening the new year's barrels.
Attendees will taste new vintage wines from Sigalas Estate, Mikra Thira, Artemis Karamolegos Winery, Gavalas Winery, Oenoous Fine Wines, and products from Ftelos Brewery Santorini. Live music will be performed by Spyros Mpalios on violin, Martha Mavroidi on vocals and lafta, and Fanouris Petropoulos on vocals and lute.
Admission costs 12 euros and includes a commemorative wine glass. Doors open at 18:30, and advance ticket sales take place at 1260 Ceramic Studio in Megalochori and Pelican Kipos cafe & wine restaurant in Fira. Due to limited venue capacity, first-come, first-served entry will apply for on-site ticket purchases.
