Departure Prohibition Lifted for Ferry 'IONIS' in Kea
The mechanical issue on the passenger-car ferry 'IONIS' has been resolved, allowing the vessel to resume its scheduled route to Lavrio.
The scheduled routes of the passenger-car ferry 'IONIS' are now operating normally following the lifting of the departure prohibition at the port of Kea. The Coast Guard gave clearance after the mechanical failure was repaired and the required class certificate was presented by the competent classification society.
The vessel, which experienced the mechanical issue prior to departure, carried 110 passengers, 20 cars, four trucks, and one motorcycle. Following the completion of the technical inspection, 'IONIS' departed for its scheduled route from Kea to Lavrio. The ferry serves the shipping connection of Lavrio with Kea and Kythnos.
