Municipality of Mykonos: Family grave converted to standard use at Chora cemetery

The decision was taken unanimously by the Municipal Council due to severe space shortages at the cemetery.
The Municipal Council of Mykonos decided to convert a family grave into a standard, three-year use grave at the Chora Municipal Cemetery to meet current operational needs.
The unanimous decision was made during the council session on October 6, 2026, following the voluntary waiver of usage rights by the beneficiaries for grave number 170, submitted via formal declarations in mid-September 2026.
As noted by the Environmental Directorate of the Municipality of Mykonos, there is a severe lack of space at the Chora cemetery, and under the active regulations, no new family graves may be allocated beyond those already established.
