Mykonos: Specifications Approved for New Waste Bins and Compactor Container

Following decisions by Mayor Christos Veronis, the municipality moves forward with the procurement of 1,100-liter plastic bins and a 12-cubic-meter waste compactor.
The Mayor of Mykonos, Christos Veronis, approved the technical specifications for the procurement of new waste management equipment by signing two official decisions on October 8, 2026. This development concerns the upgrade of waste collection resources on the island.
The first decision approves the technical specifications for plastic waste bins with a capacity of 1,100 liters. These specific bins are expected to feature lid-opening shock absorbers and a foot pedal for easier use.
The second decision approves the specifications for the procurement of a waste compactor container with a capacity of 12 cubic meters. Both procurements are based on studies prepared by the Directorate of Environment & Technical Personnel of the Municipality of Mykonos.
