Municipality of Milos Participates in the 199th Anniversary Events of the Battle of Navarino in Pylos

The Municipality of Milos participated in the anniversary events held in Pylos to mark 199 years since the Battle of Navarino. The delegation was led by the Mayor of Milos, Emmanouil Mikelis, accompanied by members of the municipal senior citizens center (KAPI).

During the events, the Mayor of Milos laid a wreath both as an official representative of the municipality and as a descendant of Petros Mikelis, a pilot of the British fleet from Milos who lost his life at the start of the battle.

Members of the senior citizens center performed traditional dances, accompanied by the Chairman of the Municipal Cultural Committee Michalis Moraitis and Social Service employee Michailia Foteinou. Additionally, two traditional professional vessels from Milos, 'Leloudo' and 'Thalassitra', took part in the events.
