Meeting Held on the Establishment of a Maritime Fire Station in Syros

A meeting was held at the Town Hall of Syros - Ermoupoli between Mayor Alexis Athanasiou and the Secretary General for Civil Protection, Nikos Papaefstathiou. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to establish a Maritime Fire Station on the island to cover local needs and support neighboring islands.

Additionally, the replacement of two fire tanker vehicles and the management of the old fire station building located at the harbor front of Ermoupoli were examined during the meeting.

The meeting included a review of the fire season and proposals to upgrade and accelerate the activation of the 112 emergency system. Participants included Deputy Mayor for Tourism Giannis Voutsinos, Municipal Secretary General Vasilis Kouroutos, Civil Protection Head Dimitris Skoulatos, and Fire Service officials.
