Anafi: Military Unit Takes Over Completion of Access Road to Airstrip

The completion of the access road leading to the airstrip on Anafi is moving forward following a decision signed by Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias.

The construction work is being undertaken by the Studies and Construction Unit of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, as part of an effort initiated 12 years ago in cooperation with the Mayor of Anafi, Iakovos Roussos, to establish a landing strip for small aircraft on the island.

The road construction is considered essential for utilizing the infrastructure and improving transport options on the island. However, the official announcement does not specify a timeline for the completion of the works or an operational start date for the landing strip.
