A 4.4% Increase in International Air Arrivals to the Cyclades in the First Eight Months of 2026
According to INSETE data, international air arrivals to the Cyclades reached 981,000 during the January-August 2026 period, showing an increase compared to the previous year.
Tourism in the Cyclades registered an upward trend during the first eight months of 2026, approaching one million international air arrivals. According to the September 2026 Statistical Bulletin of INSETE, 981,000 international air arrivals were recorded in the islands from January to August, showing an increase of 42,000 or 4.4% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
On a national scale, international air arrivals reached 20.6 million, recording a 3.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This rise demonstrates that the Cyclades moved at a growth rate slightly higher than the national average.
Concurrently, the country's travel receipts for the January-July 2026 period reached 13.518 billion euros, showing a 12% increase compared to 2025. Receipts from the United Kingdom and Italy showed a significant increase, while a decrease was recorded from France and Germany.
