Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in the western and northern parts of the Cyclades from Tuesday afternoon until early Wednesday.

The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) has upgraded its emergency weather bulletin to a Dangerous Weather Phenomena Warning, according to an announcement by the Municipality of Tinos. The warning concerns heavy rain, thunderstorms, and potential local hail on Tuesday, October 13, and Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Specifically for the Cyclades, severe weather is expected to primarily affect the western and northern parts of the island complex under an orange alert, starting late Tuesday afternoon, October 13, and continuing through the early hours of Wednesday, October 14.

At the same time, locally gale-force north-northeasterly winds reaching 8 to 9 and temporarily up to 10 Beaufort are forecast initially in the northern Aegean and gradually in the central Aegean. The increase in wind intensity is expected from Tuesday evening through late Wednesday night.
