The study highlights high seasonality and proposes infrastructure and spatial planning measures for islands such as Paros.

The concentration of international air arrivals in the Cyclades occurs primarily during the summer months, with 83% taking place between June and September and 52% exclusively during July and August, according to an INSETE study.

At the same time, the nationwide reduction of average stay to 6.1 nights increases visitor turnover, putting pressure on island water, energy, and waste management networks.

To manage these pressures in destinations such as Paros, the report emphasizes accelerating modernization projects at Cyclades airports, applying a cruise disembarkation fee, enforcing strict spatial planning, and creating Destination Management Organizations.
