October 28th Student Parade Canceled Across All Cyclades Islands

The student parade for October 28, 2026, will not take place on any island in the Cyclades. The decision was officially made by the Deputy Regional Governor of the Cyclades, Giorgos Leontaritis, due to forecasts of severe weather conditions.

The cancellation was required following the activation of a Red Code alert by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, prompted by the risk of flooding across the island region.

The measure applies to all scheduled student parades as well as the participation of local associations, organizations, and societies celebrating the national anniversary.
