The Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades has launched an open electronic tender for the construction of a wooden pedestrian path at Agios Georgios beach. The project's budget amounts to 500,000 euros excluding VAT (totaling 620,000 euros including 24% VAT) and is funded by the "South Aegean 2021–2027" program. The contracting authority is the municipality's Directorate of Technical Services.

The intervention will take place in one of the most frequented coastal zones of Naxos Town. According to the technical description, the wooden path will cover a total surface area of 1,485.45 square meters and will be constructed using IROKO tropical hardwood.

The design goal of the new infrastructure is to create a continuous accessible route connecting the municipal parking lot and the road network directly with the beachfront. This aims to facilitate the independent movement of swimmers and individuals with mobility difficulties, while also protecting the sandy surface from heavy wear.
