Severe Storm Causes Disruptions in Syros
A powerful storm in Syros has caused traffic disruptions, a fallen tree, and overflowing manholes in Ermoupolis and other areas of the island.
An intense storm currently active in Syros has caused multiple problems across the island's road network and the center of Ermoupolis, affecting vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
Specifically, in the Apollonos Street area, a vehicle veered off course and ended up in a drainage shaft, leading to a temporary traffic suspension. Additionally, a tree fell onto the road surface on the route towards Panachrantou.
In the pedestrian zone of Ermoupolis, a significant volume of water accumulated, while intense rainfall caused several manholes to overflow. The water pressure forced manhole covers open, creating additional hazards on the streets.
