AUTH: Monument for Refugees in the Under-Construction Garden of Memory
A new monument featuring twelve stone segments dedicated to the refugees of the Asia Minor Catastrophe is being constructed at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is creating a monument dedicated to the refugees of the Asia Minor Catastrophe. The monument will be located in the university's under-construction Garden of Memory.
The structure consists of twelve equal stone segments arranged in a circle. Engraved on these stones are the names of cities and regions from Pontus, Ionia, Cappadocia, East Thrace, and Eastern Rumelia.
