International recognition for the National Museum of Contemporary Art with the Art Museum Award

The National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) won the Art Museum Award from the European Museum Academy in Alicante, Spain. The nine-member jury of European museum experts selected the Greek institution based on its vision and its approach to art as a key medium for human development.
The shortlist for this distinction included prominent European museums, such as the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the new FENIX Migration Museum in Rotterdam, and the National Gallery of Slovenia in Ljubljana. According to the organizers, this year's competition was marked by a highly competitive field.
