HNMS Update: Severe Storms Expected over the Weekend

The Hellenic National Meteorological Service has updated its emergency weather advisory. The orange warning remains in effect for locally heavy rain and storms, which may be accompanied by hail. The new forecast alters some of the areas and times of the phenomena compared to the initial advisory.

For Saturday, September 26, intense weather is initially expected in the Ionian Islands, excluding Corfu and Paxoi, from the early morning until pre-noon hours. Subsequently, from noon until late at night, the severe weather is projected to affect the Peloponnese, particularly Laconia, eastern Arcadia, and southern areas, as well as Kythira.

On Sunday, the HNMS forecast focuses the strongest phenomena on Evia, with temporary outbreaks also expected in eastern Thessaly and the Sporades.
