The Blue Lungs initiative is being implemented in Kea, focusing on the protection of Posidonia seagrass, which constitutes one of the most critical marine ecosystems in the Mediterranean.
The program is carried out through the cooperation of the Municipality of Kea and Aegean Rebreath, with the participation of scientific and private entities, and funding from Zurich Bank.
The primary actions of the initiative include documenting and mapping the local marine environment, alongside specific interventions aimed at protecting these seagrass meadows.
