Heavy rainfall hit Syros on Sunday afternoon, with large amounts of water falling for approximately one hour. The brief but intense downpour created the first weather-related issues, especially in the island's capital.
Streets in Hermoupolis were temporarily flooded in locations where the drainage system has weaknesses or cannot immediately absorb the heavy volume of water. The situation gradually normalized once the rain stopped.
