Tinos: 8% Increase in Tourist Traffic but Decline in Food Services

Data presented by the Mayor of Tinos to the Municipal Council shows growth in accommodation during the second quarter, but a drop in food service revenue.
Tourist traffic in Tinos recorded an increase of approximately 8% for the current season up to August compared to the previous year, according to data presented by the island's Mayor to the Municipal Council. This data does not yet include September statistics.
Despite the overall increase, the economic impact varies across sectors. According to ELSTAT data for the second quarter of 2026, accommodation turnover grew by 6.1% compared to the same period in 2025, while food services registered a 2.5% decline.
The Mayor of Tinos linked this divergence to changing consumer habits among visitors and emphasized the need for early planning regarding the island's infrastructure and services ahead of the next tourist season.
