The Mayor of Mykonos rejected a probationary employee's request for a one-month leave, citing increased operational needs.
By decision number 451/2026 of the Mayor of Mykonos, Christos Veronis, a probationary employee's request from the Sanitation Department for one month of unpaid leave was rejected.
The employee, belonging to the outdoor sanitation personnel sector, submitted the application on October 8, 2026, requesting leave for the period from October 12 to November 12, 2026, for personal reasons.
The refusal was based on written observations from the Mayor, the Deputy Mayor of Sanitation Konstantinos Sachas, and the Director of Environment and Technical Staff Konstantinos Kounanis, who highlighted existing understaffing and elevated municipal operational demands.
