First Arrival of Cruise Ship Silver Nova in Syros

The cruise ship Silver Nova, owned by Silversea, made its first call at Syros on Wednesday, November 4. Built in 2023, the vessel features a hybrid propulsion system and advanced technologies designed to reduce emissions.

To mark the arrival, a meeting took place in Ermoupoli involving the Mayor of Syros–Ermoupoli Alexis Athanasiou, the Vice President of the Port Fund Iosif Roussos, and the President of the Cyclades Chamber of Commerce Giannis Roussos alongside cruise line executives.

Discussions focused on visitor reception infrastructure, the island's cultural identity, and prospects for future cooperation. Local officials also explored linking island gastronomy with Silversea's S.A.L.T. (Sea and Land Taste) program alongside the Cyclades Chamber's Aegean Cuisine initiative, presenting company executives with a bag of local products.
